Fixing Dog Aggression
"How to Correct Dog on Dog Aggression"
Depending on the severity of the
aggression there are a few steps that a dog owner can take to overcome their dog’s behavior aggression. For many dogs, their behavior lies in the fact that they do not see their owners as leaders. They may not necessarily see themselves above you, but you may be on their level. To them, this means that they do not necessarily have to do what you say. Dogs will lower your importance based on your handling procedures. If you do not demand respect at all times, the dog will begin to lower you to his level.
In order to raise yourself back up to the leader's status you have to
become the dog’s sole provider. This is not only important for dealing with dog aggression, but
ensuring obedience as well. Your dog will begin to gain more respect for you and will begin to
pay more attention to your commands. In most cases their aggression level will lower as
well.
You must become the ALPHA DOG!
"How to correct dog on dog aggression", is a question
which arises very frequently. There can be various reasons for this. A dog's past experience against a certain animal may have left aggressive
tendencies towards that dog of even to that entire breed! Dog breed aggression is most common among dogs which have been bred over the
centuries to guard flocks, people and property and this is inherent in their nature. Most dogs in the working groups are required to have
a dominant nature, in order to do their jobs properly and this can spill over into their social relationships, particularly when in
contact with other dogs of a similar breed.

Problems
To become your dog’s sole provider, you will need to take complete
control and responsibility for your dog. You must be careful during this process if the dog is
aggressive. You will feed, water and exercise the dog on a regular basis. Whenever the dog requires something, he should have to look to the person who is control of his
livelihood. This means that you have to always be there for the dog to depend on
you. The dog should also have to work for his needs. If he needs food, he must sit and wait patiently while you feed him. If he needs to be walked, he needs to sit and wait while you put his leash on. Once again, be very careful when dealing with the aggressive dog. You will be surprised at the difference this will make to your dog.
If your dog is too aggressive for you to handle and exhibiting dominance
aggression, you may have to look at other training options. Many aggressive dogs can be trained
and changed through police training. In police training both the dog and the owner learn how to
deal with aggressive behavior. You will need a specialized trainer. These trainers know how to train dogs not to attack and not to bite. The dogs are also taught to release. An aggressive dog will
bite, re-grip and then thrash. They can also lock their jaws so that they do not lose their grip,
which means they have potential to do a lot of damage to a person or other animal. Remember, just
because they may drop a toy on command does not mean they will stop biting on command.

big and powerful for you to handle, then other solutions to dog aggression can be found in Chet Womach's revolutionary

Him. Chet has had astonishing success with other animals and birds, as well as dogs and
is well known in all these fields. You can't put a parrot on a leash and take him for a walk! You have to use other means of
communication.
Children can also play a major role in preventing dog
aggression. Children who are playing with a dog and if the dog gets too rough they can cross
their arms and yell, “no!” They should then turn away from the dog and ignore it. This shows the dog that he is playing too rough. This is good
training for puppies that will be living with children. Children should also be taught the basic obedience commands and work with the dog to ensure the
dog respects the children as well as their owners.
